Seminar Series – Hirsch Vineyards and Louis Latour - The Terroirists

Part I: Louis Latour Tasting
Maison Louis Latour owns nearly 125 acres in 21 appellations of the Côte d’Or and is the largest owner of Grand Crus property. During this seminar attendees will taste Premier and Grand Cru wines from the estate.
Part II: Hirsch Vineyard Tasting
Enjoy a vertical and horizontal retrospective tasting to experience vintage and micro-terroir differences in this well-known Sonoma vineyard.
A three-course luncheon prepared by the Bacara culinary team will follow the seminars.

Pinot Noir by the Sea Focus Tasting

VIP status secures early entrance to the tasting of a select group of approximately 100 producers. Start your journey of tasting the world of Pinot Noir, mingle and meet the winemakers and principals and hear their take on specifics of terroir and vintages, as they present vineyard selections from their region. “Taste the place” while you nibble on fresh, local and seasonal wine country appetizers from the Bacara culinary team - and don’t miss the cheeses from C’est Cheese! Our Silent Auction will include large format and rare finds and will benefit the Michael Bonaccorsi Scholarship Fund and the Keith Patterson Memorial Endowment at Cal Poly. Taste the Place – Pinot Noir’s Regional Diversity

A set of three focused and intimate 5-course dinners. Just as Pinot Noir from each region has its own character, so does the food on the table to accompany it. Naturally, these in-depth dinners will be enhanced by Pinot Noir from attending winemakers, with service from our team of professional sommeliers.
Kosta Browne 20th Anniversary Dinner with Chef Dustin Valette of Valette in Healdsburg

Limited to 65 guests, this intimate dinner features Kosta Browne’s cellar collection of wines. A five-course dinner prepared by Dustin Valette of Valette Healdsburg will complement the wines for a special Pinot Noir and dining experience only available at WOPN.

Maison Louis Latour was established in 1797 and has been passed from father to son for 11 generations. The company is currently run by the seventh “Louis”, Louis-Fabrice Latour and is the largest of Grand Cru property in all of the Côte d’Or. A special dinner prepared by Bacara’s Executive Chef, Vincent Lesage will feature exclusive Louis Latour wines in an intimate six-course meal for 40, with wine service provided by our sommelier team.

Sophie Boban-Doering and Paul Doering, owners of the San Luis Obispo shop, Fromagerie Sophie, bring their cheese expertise back to WOPN. Enjoy a selection of Sonoma wines including offerings from: Rodney Strong, Landmark and Walt carefully paired with cheeses. Matt Kettmann of Wine Enthusiast will moderate while you hear from the winemakers, cheese experts and take away tips on how to plan your next pairing. All sales are final, no refunds or exchanges.
Pinot Noir by the Sea Grand Tasting

Featuring a different roster of wineries from California and even more wines from our international and regional participants, the Grand Tasting continues the World of Pinot Noir tradition of Pinot Noir by the Sea. The Grand Ballroom and Terraces will be the setting for more than 120 producers of our alluring grape. Chef Vincent Lesage and his culinary team will pull out all the stops for tasty pinot inspired appetizers as you taste. C’est Cheese will be there with their incredible cheese tasting and our Silent Auction returns with a new slate of magnums, verticals and special bottlings. Each year WOPN honors a vintner based on his/her contribution and success in producing world-class Pinot Noir. The 2017 honoree, Merry Edwards, is a class act when it comes to making a mark in the Pinot Noir category. Hitching Post Retrospective Dinner

As one of the original founders of WOPN, Chef Frank Ostini is back and this time it’s all about the wine and barbecue in a retrospective dinner you’ll never forgot. This barbeque features a vertical of Hitching Post Pinot Noirs crafted by Frank and partner Gray Hartley, along with traditional wood fire barbeque prepared by Frank and his team. Vintage Burgundy Dinner with the Guild of Sommeliers
