Winemaker & Viticulturist Technical Symposium

You are invited to participate in
a two-day Winemaker & Viticulturist Technical Pinot Noir Symposium,
immediately preceding the 10th Annual World of Pinot
Noir. Based on the success of previous years, the general
format will remain the same: a blind tasting of the 2009
vintage, discussion, reveal, question and answer session.
Each winery completes a data sheet on their barrel samples (via our website). All data sheets are compiled and given as notebooks to participants for use at the symposium. This is a great networking opportunity for newcomers and veterans alike!

New for 2010
To add a little spice to our 10th year anniversary,
we have scouted a NEW LOCATION for the Symposium.
The Hacienda in Shell Beach is about a mile and a half
south of The Cliffs Resort. This private estate offers
space for the seminar as well as plenty of space for
fun after the seminars! The Hacienda has a swimming pool,
Jacuzzi, a game room with a ping pong table, pool table
and fooze ball table.
We will have continental breakfast and buffet lunches there
on both Wednesday and Thursday and a catered dinner
there on Wednesday evening. These meals are included
in the cost of the symposium.
 Transportation
The Hacienda is on a private neighborhood street. Noise should be kept to a low growl. Parking is extremely
limited. Please take the bus to the location or car
pool with no fewer than 4 people per car. Please call the WOPN office for directions and the names of the people in your car pool. Parking assignments will need to be made for self transportation.
Please bring your dinner wine(s), winekey, change of clothing, swimwear, towels, toiletries ,
etc. with you each morning. The bus will not be taking
you back to your hotel prior to dinner on either Wednesday or Thursday night.
Bus transportation departs The Cliffs Resort at 7:00am
on Wednesday to take you to the Hacienda. You’ll
arrive in plenty of time for breakfast before the Symposium.
Lunch and Dinner will both be served at the Hacienda.
Bus returns to The Cliffs Resort after dinner on Wednesday. There are a couple of bedrooms and "crash spaces" available at the Hacienda (at no charge) if you miss the bus. No assigned rooms. It'll be Darwin theory all the way...
WOPN is not responsible for lost or stolen articles, humility etc.

on Thursday to take you to the Hacienda. You’ll
arrive in plenty of time for breakfast before the Symposium.
Lunch will be served at the Hacienda. At the conclusion
of the seminar, those of you who have purchased tickets
to the “Welcome to WOPN” Hitching Post BBQ
at Talley Vineyards will board the bus to the winery.
Those who did not purchase tickets to the Hitching Post
BBQ will be bussed back to The Cliffs Resort.
Tickets to the BBQ are sold in advance only.
The Symposium is open to Winemakers and
Viticulturists Only (No Press, No Public, No Trade)
Seating is limited, and will be filled on a first
come, first served basis. Please, no more than 3 persons
per winery. Open to WOPN Winery participants only until
January 31, 2010. Thereafter open to all winemakers
and growers. $395 per person for the two-day symposium
includes 3 meals Wednesday and 2 meals on Thursday with
an optional BBQ Dinner for $75.00 (lodging additional).
We need the name of each Technical Symposium attendee
so if you are purchasing more than one of tickets below,
please enter the first attendee's name and click the
Add to Cart button. The shopping cart will open, but
simply click the Continue Shopping button there to return
to this page. Then simply replace the first attendee's
name with the second name and click Add to Cart. The
shopping cart will now include two individual tickets.
Continue this process for additional attendees.
If you are purchasing a ticket and do not yet know the
name of the attendee, please enter TBD. We will need the name of each attendee by February 1, 2010.
